What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is an orthodontic solution that works identically to traditional metal braces; however, there are a few distinct differences. Rather than relying on bulky brackets that are bonded to the teeth and connected by wire, Invisalign utilizes a system of custom-made clear plastic aligners.

These aligners are designed to fit over a patient’s teeth and encourage them to gradually move over an extended period of time. These micro-movements are so subtle that they can hardly be felt, but the treatment requires patients to wear their aligners nearly full-time – roughly 22 hours each day, only removing them to brush and eat.

Many patients prefer the idea of Invisalign over metal braces due to the convenience of the aligners. Not only are they virtually invisible when being worn, but they’re also fully removable, meaning that oral hygiene is unaffected and there are no crucial dietary restrictions that need to be followed.

Are Invisalign Clear Aligners Right for You?

Although most patients will almost immediately gravitate toward Invisalign clear aligners, it’s important to note that they aren’t an ideal solution for everyone. Invisalign is most effective when addressing mild to moderate orthodontic issues; for complex cases, metal braces may be the preferred option. During your consultation at our office, we’ll perform a detailed examination of your mouth and assess the extent of your orthodontic issues. We’ll also ask about your lifestyle habits; for example, patients who don’t feel like they’re able to commit to the daily diligence required by Invisalign might opt for a different solution instead.

Easy Invisalign Payment Options

If you’re considering Invisalign for yourself or a loved one, you should know that there are several ways of making the treatment easily affordable. Here’s a breakdown of some of your options – and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give us a call!

Option 1 – Pay Up Front for the Lowest Total Cost Possible

At Great Lakes Dental Excellence, Invisalign treatment can cost as little as $3,400* if the patient pays in full at their first scheduled appointment (scanning/data collection) with check, cash, debit/credit card, or HAS. Any dental insurance reimbursement will be sent directly to you.

*This option includes the Invisalign New Patient Coupon, which features a $500 discount. This offer is good for two weeks following your first Invisalign consultation and cannot be combined with any other discounts or coupons.

Option 2 – Flexible Financing with Soft Credit Check

After a soft credit check approval from Sunbit, patients can pay for their Invisalign treatment with $178 down and $89 a paycheck (every two weeks) for 24 months in total. The total cost of treatment under this arrangement will be $4,429.39.

Option 3 – Lowest Monthly Payments with CareCredit

If approved by CareCredit, patients can pay $174 a month with $0 down for 24 months and 0% interest! Their total cost under this plan would be $4,156.

Please note that financial options available through 3rd parties such as CareCredit must be paid in a timely fashion to avoid penalties.

Option 4 – Use Our In-Office Payment Plan

If you’d like to avoid 3rd parties, our in-office payment plan can be arranged for $1,000 down and bi-weekly payments of $362.50 for 4 months in total. The final cost of treatment under this plan would be $3,900.

Option 5: Have Your Insurance Payment Sent to Us Instead of You

We can subtract your estimated insurance payment from the total cost and a payment of the balance will be collected (minimum of $1,000).

Not all patients will be able to access this option. Please note that some insurances will only pay the patient directly, which makes this unavailable.

The Benefits of Invisalign

It’s tough to realize just how many advantages Invisalign has to offer until you’ve experienced the treatment yourself – but you can rest assured that the benefits are numerous. A few of the most enticing ones include:

  • Invisalign aligners are 100% removable, meaning that patients can virtually eat whatever they want, as long as they remove their trays beforehand.
  • The aligners are made from a special, durable clear plastic material, meaning that they’re virtually unnoticeable while being worn.
  • Oral hygiene is mostly unchanged while undergoing treatment; patients just need to keep their aligners clean and brush after each meal.
  • Invisalign treatment is often quicker to complete compared to traditional metal braces; the aligners can often do their job in 12 – 18 months on average, while metal braces tend to take a few months more.
